CALIFORNIA - Who would have thought TauchPad from Hewlett Packard (HP) which is now discontinued managed to occupy second position in the market iPad tablet after the United States (U.S.).
This report was provided by research firm NPD Group on Tuesday, saying Touchpad under iPad tablet on sale in the U.S. in the first 10 months of this year. TouchPad managed to control the U.S. share at 17 percent followed by the Galaxy Tab from Samsung who managed to obtain 16 percent.
This is the percentage of sales outside the iPad tablet, with a total of 1.2 million customers and their transactions recorded from January to begin in October 2011. Similarly, as quoted by Yahoo News, Wednesday (23/11/2011).
However, now the TouchPad is no longer available in the tablet market globally. Because HP has decided to discontinue production TouchPad after feeling a failure in seven weeks after its release. In addition HP has also left an operating system designed by the Palm webOS.
Stephen Baker, vice president of NPD as well as industry analysts say, consumers tablets in the U.S. is more interested in devices other than the iPad. One would have expected a success and could challenge the dominance of the iPad is the Fire of the Amazon Kindle.
This is reinforced by the results of a survey ChangWave Research has conducted a survey of 3043 consumers in the U.S.. As many as 65 percent decided to keep buying the iPad and 22 percent said interested to buy Kindle Fire
